Scottsdale, Arizona-Chaparral Park is a peaceful place to relax. Located at the corner of Chaparral and Hayden Road in Scottsdale.

There is a lake in the middle of the park, and visitors can walk or ride bicycles by the lake. In addition, it is also a popular spot for urban fishing.

"Actually, it is very exciting to have a lot of birds flying in," Tom Lancione said.

Tom Lancione and his wife walked by the lake in the park every morning, but during their most recent hike, they noticed that a bird in the lake was performing poorly.

"I saw the heron entangled on the fishing line on the other side," Lancioni said, pointing to the island in the middle of the lake.

The blue heron is actually hanging on the tree above, with its wings entangled by iron wires.

"The more he struggles, the worse the result will be," Ranchone said.

He called Mark Kroeppler, a volunteer from the Free Wildlife Foundation, who took his boat to the island and was able to chop down the big bird from the tree.

Kroeppler said he has saved many birds from the fishing line.

As soon as he returned to the mainland, he wrapped it in a towel, and its wings were still entangled in iron wires. This will not be a single job that sets him free.

"They are fighters. They are strong. Very large birds, maybe four feet tall," Lancion said.

Kroeppler transported the big bird to Liberty Wildlife, a wildlife rehabilitation center. Kroeppler said that he held down the bird while the other two staff cut it from the wire. A veterinarian checked the bird for injuries.

The good news is that the bird was not severely shaken. Considering that the situation might get worse, it was released.

Lancione said: "If it stays as it is, it won't last overnight."

Kreppler urged all fishermen to clean up on their own to avoid such incidents.
